Smacking lips and throwing buckets
Our final adventure in Indonesia - island hopping along the West Sumatran coast. Remote tropical islands, surfing, loads of fresh coconuts and beautiful vistas all around us.

Sumatra bound
Ausbos leaves the jungles of Borneo on a high, with our friends Emma and Dave still onboard as well as an unwelcome stowaway, namely a gastro bug we picked up on our river adventure.

Wild Safari
Rescued turtles and dolphins keep us busy in North Bali then Borneo’s gentle orangutans enchant in their natural habitat. Emma and Dave visit from Australia and share in the adventures.

We play land tourists in Bali and Kuala Lumpur and get up to lots of monkey business
Making West
We travel west along the north coast of Sumbawa island, exploring waterfalls and volcanic lakes.
Walking with dragons
We visit Komodo National park and mix it up with the famous dragons.
Finally at Flores
From Bonerate, it’s a one day motor sail south to the island of Flores. Arriving here is a loong time coming for Ausbos, instead of meeting Graham’s parents at Flores back in 2019, we sailed back to Darwin as covid broke out. Jurassic Park like green mountains welcome us

Bau-bau
Bau-bau is a rest and provision stop on our way down to Flores. It is a small and picturesque town on the island of Buton, which hugs the southeastern side of Sulawesi. It’s a couple of days before Graham’s birthday so we will stick around and celebrate here.
Back to Indonesia
After more than two years of covid-induced sailing in Australia, we finally return to the land of the islands on 6 November 2022. The two day passage from Darwin to Saumlaki is smooth, marked only by a couple of beautiful sunsets and sunrises out at sea. It feels cathartic to
